Vests for Valor

One of our teachers is a puppy raiser for K9s for Warriors.  She has had Valor for nearly a year and as part of the training Valor goes everywhere with her - even school!  The kids in her class have become very attached to Valor and she really is part of the class.
Valor is 2nd from the left - black lab, red vest!
Valor is one-year-old now and will soon start the next stage of training and then be matched up with a warrior.  Also school is nearly over.  The teacher wanted to give the kids a lasting reminder of Valor so she ordered little stuffed chocolate lab puppies.

I offered to make little service vests for the puppies.  Thankfully they turned out simpler than I first envisioned.  No buckles or straps.  Just a band with her name that velcros on.

Little S insisted it be removable for better play options.  She has dog napped the sample!
Isn't she cute!
I am honored to have had a small part in the impact Valor has had and will continue to have in people's lives.
The real Valor is even cuter!

Linking up to Crazy Mom Quilts and Confessions of a Fabric Addict to show off finishes.
