Fly Away Ladybugs

Stash Report 042918

Nothing In:  Too busy at work, cleaning and getting College E's room ready for her return next week, rounding up paperwork for her scholarship applications, and applying for a new job.  No time to go shopping, not even thrift shopping.

A little bit out: I finished the edges of this cute flannel to teach a friend how to make a crochet-edge baby blanket.  She had asked me a while back how to make one and she is heading out on a long RV trip soon, so this will be a good handwork project to take along.
This will be a fun edge for this fabric.

Fabric Purchased this week: 0 yards
Fabric Purchased YTD: 30.76 yards

Fabric Acquired this week: 0 yards
Fabric Acquired YTD: 22.65 yards

Fabric Used this week:  1.31 yards flannel for baby blanket
Fabric Used YTD: 45.58 yards

Total: 7.83 yards stashed

Still heading in the right direction ever so slightly.

I am trying hard to keep up with Kate over at Life in Pieces trying to get 15 minutes of stitching or sewing related work done every day.  I've missed a few days, but sometimes life just takes precedence.  End of the year at school is usually a busy, busy time and this year is no exception.  I have worked on a few little projects, but no finishes.

Friday Finish 042018

It's that time of year again - mini vests for the mini service dog in training.
Vest is on and he is ready to work.
A co-worker is a puppy raiser for Bristol, who will be come a service dog for a warrior through the K9s for Warriors program.  Since she brings Bristol to school, she will give each of her students a stuffed Bristol, complete with service vest at the end of the year.
I love the uniformity of it.

I can't be a puppy raiser, but I can make the little "vests."

Yes, Bristol is the center of attention.
The is her third puppy and my third year to help out in this way.  I have it down to a science now and this batch got finished pretty quickly.
The real Bristol nearly one year ago!

Stash Report 040818

I've been sewing in dribs and drabs.  I had thought I'd get more done on Spring Break than I actually did.  Isn't that always the case?

Fabric In:  I'm not doing so good this year on resisting temptation.  But when it is so super cheap (or free) I can't help myself.
This will make a great backing.

Turquoise chevrons: 3 yards for $2.29

Solid Red: 2.44 yards gifted

Just cute!
Princesses: 1 yard for $1, most of it already used in a pillowcase

Snowmen: 0.9 yards for $0.50

Soft and snuggly
Flannel: It has already been cut into large squares (44" x 44") for baby blankets with crochet edges, but I think I can use it for backings for baby quilts also.  10.21 yards gifted

Fabric Out:

There were some straggling pillowcases that found their way back to me for finishing.  All done.  Three of the more childish ones will go to a family in Spain next month, but the rest need homes.  Ideas??  Some of the fabric had been donated just for this project, but most was from the stash.  19 pillowcases = 14.64 yards

Who needs pillowcases?

Fabric Purchased this week: 4.9 yards
Fabric Purchased YTD: 30.76 yards

Fabric Acquired this week: 12.65 yards
Fabric Acquired YTD: 22.65 yards

Fabric Used this week:  14.64 yards for pillowcases
Fabric Used YTD: 43.68 yards

Total: 9.73 yards stashed

I am mostly keeping up with Kate over at Life in Pieces trying to get 15 minutes of stitching or sewing related work done every day.  I am not getting it reported regularly, but I am getting it done in real life.

BOM Challenge Month 4

I have been keeping up with the BOM Challenge.  It gives me an excuse to do something different briefly.
Month 4 Here We Go!!

Month 4 had a few more steps than the previous months, but still very easy especially since it is precut.

Love, Love, Love the Pre-Cuts
So I am still on track with this.  Woo Hoo!

Month 1 and Month 4

I like the little stories that go along to explain how the block got its name.
