Design Wall Monday

Little S saw a quilt at the fabric store a few weeks ago.  She loved it and took some photos of it.  It is based on a hexagon, but didn't seem too complicated.    I looked on-line but couldn't find anything similar as a pattern, so I just dove right in.  After Middle E's Mariner's Compass, nothing is complicated.
Not bad for a first try with no pattern!

I had a bag of already cut hexagons left from an I Spy quilt project.  There were enough with the same fabric that we could test the idea.  I didn't agonize over the hexagons being cut probably 20 years ago and not being 100% accurate.  I just went with it.
Enough hexagons to get started.

I like the way it is coming out.  I think if I cut a bunch of white triangles this can be my next leader & ender project.

Linking up with Small Quilts and Doll Quilts to show off Design Walls.
